Big Hearts Throughout the Year
We all know how hard school can be when children have everything they need. But what about those children that are also having to worry about wearing the same pair of pants all week long. Or the child whose family doesn’t have laundry detergent to provide them with clean clothing to wear to school?
School district 303 social workers refer families to us when they need assistance with basic items such as clothing, shoes, cleaning supplies and toiletries.
Right now, there’s an overwhelming increase in families needing assistance in our community. We need your help to be able to continue providing basic items to these families.
“I have seen kids just shine pure joy from getting the simplest items from Big Hearts. I have seen young kids absolutely beam over new sneakers, snacks, underwear, and some cute hair accessories. Things like this may seem like “no big deal” to many adults, and something that we so very likely take for granted, but something like a hair bow or a fresh pair of sneakers can put a wide grin on a child’s face when school staff may not have seen a smile for far too long from that student.”
